Description: by Chelsea Dignean, RYT, CYT, Certified Doula, Certified Birth Method Instructor, Owner of Sacred Body and Breath Yoga
Practicing prenatal yoga allows a woman to focus completely and deeply on her pregnancy and upcoming birth experience. It provides a unique opportunity to consciously integrate the various mental, emotional and physical changes occurring during this transitional period in her life. The purpose behind our program is to create a dynamic group of qualified yoga teachers who are passionate about creating a mindful connection between mother and baby during pregnancy as well as labour and birth.
You will learn how to create an environment in which yogi mamas-to-be can access their body’s inherent strength and birthing wisdom, as well as, trust her intuition, build her confidence, and cultivate patience. You will learn to empower women on their journeys towards motherhood and enable them to meet the challenges of that journey with awareness, courage and gentleness. As well, this course brings to light practical lessons such as these while detailing the major principles of teaching pregnant and postpartum students.
Upon completion of the entire program you will be able to design safe and effective yoga classes, and hold a firm understanding of specialized breathing and meditation techniques for a more focused, calming pregnancy and birthing experience. As well you will be registered and certified as a RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance. Some requirements are needed to apply.
Who will benefit by attending this program?
Yoga Teachers, Health Care Professionals who deal with pregnant women, pregnant women, women who practice yoga and who would like to learn about a safe prenatal yoga practice and gain important knowledge regarding prenatal, birthing and postnatal information and helpful resources - to be able to make informed choices.
